Pap-Smear Examinations
Normal Pap smear
If your results are normal, it means that no abnormal cells were found. Negative outcomes are sometimes used to describe normal outcomes. If your results are normal, you won't need another Pap smear for another three years.
Abnormal Pap smear
If the test results are abnormal, it does not necessarily imply that you have cancer. It essentially means that your cervix contains abnormal cells, some of which may be precancerous. There are different types of abnormal cells: atypia, mild, moderate, severe dysplasia etc.
